Wildwood
Forest Park is the largest city park within city limits in the United States. The forest occupies the hills above Portland, and its trails are popular among the many outdoor enthusiasts living in the PNW. Most runners develop their trail legs on Wildwood, a 30 mile trail that runs the length of the park. With its dense forest canopy and relatively mild elevation gain, it is a wonderful place to introduce a person to the joy of running wild through a forest. As one travels along the trail, you are greeted every quarter mile with a blue diamond, marking how far you have come and letting you know you are still in the right place.
